Individual NHS Service Project Proposal

Describe your proposed project in detail.  Include:

            Proposed dates and times of each step of activity.
            Approximately how much time do you plan to spend on this project?
            From which individuals do you need to get permission to do your project?
            Describe how you will promote your project.
            Describe who will benefit from you project, and how they will benefit.
            Describe how you can benefit from this experience.

Things to remember.
            Proposals are due by November 1, 2007.
            Projects must be completed by April 15, 2008.
            Take pictures of your project in progress.
            Be sure to invite Mr. Brownlee to see your project in action.
            All projects should be something you would not normally be doing.
            All projects should be a benefit to some segment of our local community.

Repair books for the library
Help with SHASTA after school program
Help a teacher with work (outside of the school day)
Teach private or group lessons (band, vocal, sports)
City clean up (not S-Club Clean-up)
Help an elderly or shut-in family
     Clean house
     Get groceries
     Do shopping
     Yard work
     House repair
Coach a youth sports program
Make a directory of past NHS members
Tutoring
School beautification
Fund raising project for band or other organization
Work in the Sterling Food Bank
Collect items for Food Bank and/or clothing items
Parents night out
Main Street Projects
Translate school handbook, etc. into Spanish
Help with community Thanksgiving Dinner
Organize a blood donation drive at SHS
Provide Mothers Day Out child care
Put up a flag pole at the ball diamond
